Who inspires you to be the person you are today?

I don't like this question. It's too vague and touchy feelie. I am not quite sure how someone else can inspire me to be me. You know? There are lots of people who inspire me to be a better version of myself. I'm a firm believer in the idea that every person you come in contact with has some sort of significant impact on who you become. We remake ourselves everyday. How's that for vague and touchy feelie?

"Hello There!", Says Dad

I wanted to view a house with Yy and A this evening, but after we'd been waiting for quite some time, we're told that the owner is still out of town. So, we couldn't get in to the house.

And I was starving.

Thank God for Agek and Ronald who then called me and asked me out for dinner! Yay! My heroes! :D They took me to "Pawon" - a nice Javanese restaurant close to our place.

The dishes are great! We're all satisfied with the food and service. It's our first time to the restaurant. All the furnitures are made of teakwood. Very nicely decorated place. Good for our tummy, good for our eyes.....

Dinner

On the second floor, they had a kinda art shop. We didn't buy a thing as it's all exported quality and very expensive. But the guy was so nice he let me take pictures.

"Divortiare" by Ika Natassa - which I just started to read last Friday. It's a very well-written fiction novel definitely! Here are some quotes from the book:

I've decided to free myself from synthetic hormones. It's been 13 years since I starting adding them to my system to control cramping and birth. A couple of months ago, I finished a prescription and didn't have an appt for my yearly exam for a couple of weeks so I decided take a break. It was eye-opening. I felt like myself for the first time in years. It was like emerging from a black cloud and glimpsing a life free from all the pressure and stress I put on myself. All the bad stuff in my life seemed normal. For example, I was still able to breathe while thinking about our finances. For once the grass was green on my side of the fence.

I went to my appt and the doctor told me to try the nuva ring. With the ring, you get a constant dose of hormones all the time instead of the spike you get each day that comes with taking a pill. For some people, the worse thing is the high and lows that come with the pill. Well, not for me. I have tried the damn ring and now I know...hormones in any form make me hate life. I am done.

Frustration

Okay, I've gotten a number of minor issues taken care of concerning the wonderful world of Vista learning.  But would someone please help me with something that should be relatively simple??  Pretty please? 

I have a 22 inch flat screen monitor.  The optimum resolution, according to Dell, is 1680 x 1050.  Yeah, right!  Oh, it's beautiful!  The text is so clear and the quality is great, but........it's made for teeny tiny people with teeny tiny eyes!!  I would be blind in two weeks tops....not something I'm particularly looking forward to since I rather enjoy having sight.

I've checked around a lot of places, and it appears that people using Vista have two main resolutions:  1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024.  The latter one makes for small print, and also leaves about 2.5 inches of blank space on each side of the web page.  What's the point of having a nice big monitor if it doesn't use it well?  Lol.  And the former leaves everything at a nice size (no eye strain), with about 1 inch remaining on each side of the web page.  But the photos and the text are not SHARP and clear.

I have tried every resolution for a 22 inch monitor with 32-bit color, and the 1024 x 768 seems to be the best.  But why isn't it sharp and clear?  Boo hoo.  The photos are a little on the grainy side, and the text is a little on the pale, fuzzy side.

What resolution do you use?  And what other settings do you use for the colors, etc?  I've been trying, but I just can't get my mind wrapped around it.

Swimming With Horses

This would make me very happy.  I've ridden horses many times, but I've never been in the water with them....let alone having the horse swimming beneath me.  I would have to say that this definately qualifies as a happy photo for the VOX Hunt.
