I found a really neat verigated camo color (Red Lion brand at the local Wal-Mart) and decided to give it a whirl. I don&#39;t think it turned out too bad. I just did a basic double stitch the whole way though for the blanket. The hat is singles with the number of stitches slowly going down. This was also my first attempt at a puff ball at the top of a baby hat. </p> <p>I think it makes a good alternate to the generic baby blanket. I&#39;m giving it to a friend who has a husband who hunts and I know they&#39;re having a little boy early next month. If it would have been a girl I was thinking about tying a pink ribbon at the front of the hat with a charm that said &quot;Daddy&#39;s little Girl&quot;. </p> <p>If I had a friend who was in the&#160;military or had a spouse/boyfriend in the military I would think about doing this again for them too. </p> <p>It was super easy and lots of fun.
