I have been a horrible blogger this week!!! I've been so busy with work, starting school and this wholesale order (pictured below) that I haven't had a chance to do anything but crochet in my free time.
I was so excited about this order! I love these beanies and being able to make many of them was awesome. I love the bright colors!
My shop has been super busy! I've been very blessed lately. Rarely does a day go by where someone isn't at least asking about a custom order or ordering something. I've been loving every minute of it but is getting overwhelming, especially now that school has started. I'm just going to keep plugging away!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I feel like I haven't listed anything new in such a long time but the truth is I'm doing a lot of orders for photography studios who have asked for trades or have orders in. I've finally finished my last one and I'm anxious to start working on stuff for my Etsy site again to get my sales rolling.
Here's some pics of my own for what I'm shipping out tomorrow.
This one might not look like much in this picture but it's adorible on. It's made of acrylic yarns in white and rainbow. Perfect for a little girl keeping the sun off her face. This is in a size for a three year old to teen.
I adore this little boy visor beanie. It's made in a size to fit a 12month - 2 year old. The colors were actually inspired by my husband who loves this combination. I'm pretty sure I'll be making one of these for my son once I get a moment.
I'm thinking of featuring Mommy & Daughter combos. This pic shows an adult visor beanie and newborn - 4 month baby beanie. It's quite adorible together and of course my pics don't do it justice.
And here are the girl beanies all together. The chocolate mint one is a new favorite color combo of mine. I also like the pink flower with it. You'll be seeing more of these colors in the near future!
Other then being busy with this project I've done an adorible earflap hat in rainbow. It actually looks tie dyed and it's awesome. I just keep thinking of the perfect hippy baby to wear it. I'll get it photographed sometime here shortly :)
Thanks for looking! Expect much more on Etsy in the next few weeks!
Our month without Daddy is soon coming to an end and he'll be coming home tomorrow! I have to say it has been a pretty crazy month and I've had my meltdowns but when push comes to shove I'm pretty lucky to have such a good kid. His puppy is pretty awesome too. Sometimes, they even take a break at the same time to give me a minute of peace.
Currently, Nathan is watching one of my favorite all time movies, Little Rascals. It has some of the best one liners. Once he remembers he has it we watch it at least 3 times before he asks to go back to cartoons or another movie. I am going to try and stick to just once tonight before bedtime since it's already almost 9pm.
In other news. I made a mistake this evening while making a hat. It turned out to be a pretty awesome mistake. Someone has ordered some beanies for their photography studio and would like a few in 4 year old size. This size is always rough for me and I normally go too small or too large. This time I went too large. I decided to add a visor to it and it came out awesome! I really like it. I'm going to send it to her anyways to match her 2 month old daughter and 4 year old daughter. Maybe they can get a great pic of the 3 of them in their hats?!
It makes me look like I almost tried to do something with myself today! Give me a break, please. I've had a rough month!
Here's What I've been working on lately. I'm going to send these pictures to someone I know with a photography studio and see if this is what she's looking for. If anything, she's going to take professional pictures of them so that I can post them on my Etsy site!
That elf hat was a pain in the ass to make. I also really like the green one. It's bright and fun.
This hat reminds me of the fourth of July. It's messy but I think it would look good in photos.
Whoo hoo! I finally got my behind in gear and updated my Etsy site. I've had most of those listings for at least a week, some more than a month, and just got around to doing it. Laaaaazy!
The baby hat featured above is very soft and lightweight. It's perfect for 3-6 month old babies who still need head protection in the Spring time! Wonderful as a shower gift and pefectly paired with some of the blankets my mother in law has in her shop. Just $5!! www.jessmiloo.etsy.com
This scarf is one I've been working on and off on for months! It is made with a newer stitch I learned on the knitting loom called alternate stitch. I plan on making more but they are very time consuming. I love the colors in this yarn. It's made with Lion Brand Homespun which is very fluffy and fun to work with. I almost kept this one for myself but being in need of some dollars for a bathroom renovation I figured I could get at least some extra paint or something fun for selling this. Selling for $10.
I'm currently working on a purse for summer time. It's got a very bright pink, red, yellow, and orange base with a bright orange finish. I'll be working on it this weekend in my free time and hope to get it posted sometime next week. Also updated are some new purses my Aunt Sue made. They're supercute and made very well. Worth the price!
Purses range from $15-$35 and ship from Grand Rapids MI. She will also ship to Canada.
Speaking of international orders. I had someone from Australia interested in a scarf. It would cost me $15-$20 to ship it there depending on the postal code! I want to start sending overseas but how do you not lose your butt on doing so? Who will pay that much for shipping?
What you see above are the blankets my mother in law has had me place on my Etsy shop. They range in size and price ($20-$25). They're so soft and awesome for newborns and she can crank them out like no one's business!
I also got to make a few things for my site this week. Below is the pink scarf I made while waiting for turkey to finish cooking. It's very soft and fluffy as a cloud. Nice and warm for this upcomming winter. ::squints face:: I hate winter.
My husband actually inspired this next scarf. It's pretty cool! It's a kids' scarf with a pocket to put things in. Kids LOVE pockets so I'm hoping someone picks this one up for their little guy. I'm going to make one for my kid for Christmas. When he posed for the Etsy pics he kept asking when he was going to get one. :) I knew it was a winner!
I hope to have a blog post with more substance later but I wanted to make sure I got these up finally.
Recently my mother-in-law added a few things to my Etsy.com shop. Stop by and take a look! I actually added some newer things as well too!
I've thought about setting up an Etsy shop for a while now. I've finally done it... www.jessmiloo.etsy.com
More to come soon! I'm going to work with my mother-in-law this weekend to fill it up. Should be fun and hopefully pay for all the yarn I've been buying.
My friend at work is having her kitchen remodled. She said she was doing her kitchen in "earthy tones" so when I went to Hobby Lobby last week I bought some 100% cotton yarn to make up some "dish scrubbies" for her. I can knock out one of these in about 45 minutes or less. I decided to make three different sizes in three different colors. I now have 3 sets of 3. I'm only giving her one and then going to give the others away at Christmas or keep them for other people as house warming gifts. This was a real easy project that kept me busy today during football games.
I'm pretty proud of them as they turned out a lot cuter then I thought they were going too. I'm thinking about doing Christmas ones for stocking stuffers in my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-laws' stockings. It would be an easy project and still cute enough to work. Oh, and the yarn is super cheap too...which makes it 10 times better.
