Two more days and I will be in sunny Laughlin, Nevada with my family. Mike, Nate and I are all taking a plane and going to see my mom and dad. Both my sisters will also be there and my 2 nieces I haven’t seen in a year! So excited! I miss them! Only thing cooler would be if my best friends came out to see me…it’s alright though. I will see them another time. If they came out this time, it would be very hard to make everyone happy and my sister is kinda weird about “sharing” her time with me.
It’s about 30 degrees here, which makes it even better that I’m leaving. I need some extra light and warm before winter sets in. YIKES! It’s raining and very…well grey. The leaves have fallen and Fall has lost its luster.
Coolest thing to happen to me in a while happened today. I brought in the things I’m selling on Etsy.com so my friend who does photography could play with them and hopefully get some awesome pictures of them that I can put on the site. Well, someone saw them and asked if I would make them a scarf for winter! Woot! I’ve been commissioned! I’m going to make her a cream scarf on my knitting loom so it’s extra thick. I’m only charging her $8 which should pay for the yarn and leave about $3 for my time but that’s alright. You gotta spend some money to get your name out there I guess. LOL. It’s just fun to be commissioned. J
I’ve also had 3 really GREAT parties in the last week so I’m looking at making an extra $500 just in the last 2 weeks from lia sophia. So excited! I’m hoping it keeps going so I can make my sales requirements to get kits for free when the new catalog comes out. I’m looking that that’s going to happen!
$$CHRISTMAS MONEY$$
I am so very tired.
I ended up with a horrible kidney infection. I am doing much better but my body has been left bruised and battered. I felt much better today (thanks, antibiotics!) but I couldn't get the excitement to muster up much effort into anything. Well, besides hiring two new employees I've been working on getting for a month now. That was pretty damn cool.
I had a Lia Sophia party tonight and...it was good. Odd but good. Sometimes you never know what to expect. It was fun but I knew I wasn't the reason everyone showed. Sure they all ordered...but they just were not interested in a damn thing I said. Too many Lia Sophia parties in the same neighborhood. Time to move on.
I came home and actually did my Econ homework which I wasn't sure I'd have enough energy to do. I am pleased with myself. ::pats own back::
Lots of dishes to do and orders to enter but I'm just going to go to bed. Their comes a time when you give up to the sleepy daze and foggy brain and say "I'll do that tomorrow".
Good Night!
It has been a nice weekend so far. Today started early since Nathan has decided that 5am is a great time to start the day…even on Saturday. He still doesn’t quite understand the difference between weekend and weekdays so he gets us up very early to watch cartoons and have breakfast. I’ve been trying to use the darker mornings as an excuse “Nathan, the sun isn’t up yet…we can’t wake up until the sun comes up!” However, this morning he wasn’t interested in going back to bed. He was hungry. (I stayed up too late watching news and stuff on the debate. I should have just gone back to bed. I know who I'm voting for. I don't need to watch them nit pick and twist each others words around for a few hours. Makes me not want to vote at all, which isn't an option.)
So, we got up early. Mike’s mom called about 7am to let me know they’d be around at 11 to pick Nate up for an “adventure”. I’d asked them to watch Nate since Mike had to work and I had a lia sophia party to do. Deciding to pick him up early was good news for me because I had a lot to do before the party started.
They ended up taking him to House On The Rock, a Frank Lloyd Wright house, which is pretty awesome. He had an amazing day with them and came home tuckered out and sleeping.
I had a great party with some awesome gals. I love the people I get to meet and the fun I have at these parties. This group of women are young and in a sorority together. They’re pretty much each having a party. It’s a lot of fun to see them again and again and I’ve been spicing up my presentation so it’s a little different each time. It has been fun. I also get great ideas of what items I should put in my kit next. I realized this time my lack of earrings is causing a lack of sales so I’ve ordered myself some new ones for next party. 7 new pairs, I’m so excited! I love my discount.
Anyways, it was a great party and when I got home Mike was finally back from work. He had slept at work last night actually. It’s the “factory sale” and all the boats were outside the building. Well, instead of putting all 200 of them back in the warehouse, someone needed to watch them all night. So, he did. It’s getting cold and the nats are really bad so he didn’t have a great night. After that with 60 hours of work this week, he was beat. He was sleeping on the couch when I got home. I got him awake and we went out to dinner. It was fun and good to see him. 60 hours does not lend to a lot of home time…I missed him.
We came home and watched a movie together. Nathan was back later than expected. By the time he got home we were ready for bed! Mike’s passed out, Nathan is passed out, and I was in need of a little computer time to myself. So here I am.
I’m looking forward to my Jr High kids tomorrow at church. I’m praying for a better day than last week. I just need to remember what age I’m dealing with and let it flow off my back. Duck in water, as they say. After church its laundry time and hopefully I can work on some school work. Mike plans on watching football all day and I’m sure Nathan will be happy to play with his toys and watch cartoons in his room. Hopefully it ends up being that peaceful!
Sounds like a lot going on but it’s all pretty boring family stuff right now. J Fine with me.
Woot!
I had my first lia sophia party tonight. It was my starter show so though I didn't make the commission I got the free jewelry! $366.00 FREE JEWELRY! I also got 4 additional items for $60 bucks. Awesomeness. I got 5 people to book a party of this party so that's going to be where I can finally make some commission. WOOT!
I'm so happy that it went well. I have spent weeks worrying about this night and it went pretty smooth. 5 BOOKINGS! I feel like I'm high from all the energy!
I can't wait till my first party on my own. It's going to be so much fun!
Cheers! And here's to a hopefully budding side business to help with the bills!
Wow, I have been craving cherry sprite something crazy lately. Seriously, it's like I can taste it in my throat I want it so bad.
I've been thinking a lot about having my own at home business. I thought about doing a few different home party businesses and I've finally settled on one. I'm going to be a lia sophia consultant. Honestly, while I'm mostly doing it for the discount but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about the possibility of making some money from this whole deal. I'm going to take it slow and book a few parties, see where it all goes. I could sure use some extra cash and lord knows I love the jewelry. I get a 70% discount for stuff I buy for me and 30% profit of all sales. Sweet huh? I'll keep everyone up on how it goes.
I am obsessed over jewelry right now. I don’t know what it is. Last year I thought it was something to frivolous to spend money on and now I’m a psycho necklace, earring, bracelet buying machine. It needs to stop. I’m not going to buy any more until my Lia Sophia party April 19th.
My friend and I are going out to lunch at this really neat restaurant today. It’s a small local owned coffee house that has wraps and sandwiches for lunch. I’m excited. She’s eaten their before but it’s a place we never think about until too late.
Mike, Nathan, and I might take a load of boats 3 hours away tomorrow. By doing that we can make extra money. Immediately I thought of getting a new jewelry box…he thought of new tires and rims for his car. I’m now thinking we should be paying those bills sitting on our table. We were doing so well and not spending anything extra…I don’t know what happened! Must get back on track!
My stomach is very hungry. My boss said he’d bring in breakfast this morning. I hope he doesn’t forget. I do have a yogurt in the fridge but it might not be enough for the wrath that is “TUMMY” (insert Jaws music here).
I have a meeting I should prepare for. Better go do that.
Today has been f***ing hectic so far. Nathan has the runs. I've been taking him to the potty every 10 minutes. Tried to clean the living room but in between potty breaks Nathan wanted to play blocks...in the living room. So, it's clean but messy. He's now beating his bedroom walls because he's refusing to take nap. He's so tired. Kids are so silly. I would take a nap! Please!
I'm getting picked up by some co workers and we're going to a Lia Sophia party at a friend's house. I'm excited to see her house, eat the food (she's an amazing cook), and buy jewelry. I've been cleaning poop all day. I need something nice to look at now.
Mike is sleeping on the couch. He's had an 80 hour week. I feel really bad for him and I'm wondering when he'll reach his breaking point. Hopefully, everything gets easier for him at work soon.
Well, I'm off to get ready. This should be a lot of fun and at least a few hours away from anything stressful.
