I'm not really in the mood to write too much right now. I need to keep focused on my training and education this week but, as always, things tend to happen when I'm away.

Last night I got back to the hotel room to find 4 voicemails. Weird, I didn't hear my phone ringing. I almost ignore them and get some sleep (the wine from dinner and sushi had definatly done their job) when I decide to just go ahead and listen to them.

First Message from Sister: "Dad is in the hospital. He's in coherent and talking jibberish. Call me ASAP."

First Message from Husband: "There are tornado's touching down and the sirens are going off. We'll be in my parent's basement."

Second Message from Sister: "Dad is out of the hospital. He had a stroke. Call me."

Fourth Message from Sprint: "Pay your phone bill or we will shut you off.

Can you say PANIC?

First I call Mike to make sure they're alright in the tornados. They are. They were just small funnel clouds and a crazy storm but it was enough to scare the town.

I get off the phone quickly and call home to see how Dad is doing. He's alright, I'm told he had a mild stroke and they're going to do more tests this and next week. He was home and safe and expecting company from those who were alarmed and wanted to see him. I thought he should be in bed sleeping, not entertaining guests. If he doesn't change his lifestyle he's going to go downhill really fast. I hope this shows him that heart surgery doesn't look so bad right about now, you know? He's never going to listen.

So. To say the least last night was not so good. It is realy hard to be far from home and hear things are not going so well. Mostly I'm worried about my dad and I'm sure it will be heavy on my mind all day. I just don't have good feelings about this.
